Note: The post-season is temporarily on hold until John Parker is able to schedule an appointment with me so I can remotely access his computer to resolve the problem he has in locating the files from the series (he played the first 2 games but cannot locate the STATS.ZIP file he exported). ...................................... These teams are being run as a temporary general manager (TGM) only by the indicated person (they do not play those team's home series): MARLINS : John Parker (TGM) ANGELS : Jim Lee (TGM) ATHLETICS : Gerry McDonald (TGM) TWINS : Andrea Cristiani (TGM) BLUE JAYS : Chip Hopkins (TGM) These teams are being run as a full temporary manager (TM) by the indicated person (they play those team's home series): DIAMONDBACKS : George P. I have included an updated IRBL Manager Address List. NOTES: (1) A volunteer is needed to handle the DIAMONDBACKS during the draft because George P. Widenor is not available to do that. He will provide a list of specific player needs to assist the volunteer. (2) A volunteer is needed to be the ANGELS temporary G.M. during the season to monitor player usage (Jim Lee does not have time to do that) ...................................... IRBL Newsletter # 867 stated that according to IRBL Rule # 13B1, 19 teams will be allowed to draft until they have 42 rated players and 11 teams will be allowed to draft until they have 41 rated players but the list of which teams have which limits was left out. Here are the lists: The following 19 teams will be allowed to draft until they have 42 rated players: YANKEES, DODGERS, ATHLETICS, ROYALS, BLUE JAYS, MARLINS, ROCKIES, CUBS, BRAVES, METS, WHITE SOX, PIRATES, ASTROS, ORIOLES, TIGERS, REDS, DIAMONDBACKS, BREWERS and TWINS The following 11 teams will be allowed to draft until they have 41 rated players: CARDINALS, INDIANS, RANGERS, MARINERS, RED SOX, ANGELS, PADRES, RAYS, GIANTS, NATIONALS and PHILLIES Please remember that the 43 or 42 rated player draft limit is affected by trading draft picks. IRBL # 868 1-15-11 3 Please also remember that the maximum roster size at any time is 60 players. You must release enough non-rated players to make room on your roster for any players that you draft or trade for. At the end of the final pre-season trading deadline, the maximum roster size is 50 players. If you exceed the limit, players will be released from your roster per IRBL rules. ...................................... The teams that were lowered are noted by a dash and a number indicating the round the pick originated from. Please note that the differences in the draft order between the rounds are due to how the penalty points are applied (refer to IRBL Rule # 13D4). ...................................... New procedure for handling late series in 2011 As previous announced via email, to prevent teams from falling weeks (or months behind schedule), starting in 2011, if I do not receive an SRZ by 2 weeks after the series date, I will offer the opposing manager the option to play the series. If he does not want to play it, either a pre-arranged volunteer will play it or I will play it. If there are no home team lineup instructions then the road series lineups for the previous road series will be used. If the lineup is missing a player (due to the Inactive List) then any available player can be used to fill the spot. LSP's will still continue to accumulate until the results of the series is received from whoever plays it. If any managers wants to stand ready IRBL # 868 1-15-11 6 to play such series that fall back for me to play (to save me the time), please let me know and I will put you on a "ready to play late series" list. Revised IRBL rules including this new rule # 29A2 is included. ...................................... Roster corrections: The batter listed as unrated on the ROYALS as "KENDRICK, HOWIE" is actually a rated player listed as "KENDRICK, HOWARD" in the DMB game (they changed the spelling of his first name; I did review such mis- matches and caught others but missed this one) and he is not eligible to be drafted. It has been brought to my attention that there are two players named FRANCISCO RODRIGUEZ. One is the veteran Major League METS reliever (known as K-Rod). The other is a rookie reliever with the Major League ANGELS. I modified the names of these two players to include their middle initials to distinguish them. These are the 2 players: RODRIGUEZ, FRANCISCO J. (Major League METS, IRBL GIANTS) RODRIGUEZ, FRANCISCO M. (Major League ANGELS, eligible to be drafted) The Player Usage Forms and draft information files had the statistics for those two players reversed. This is the correct information: RODRIGUEZ, FRANCISCO J. --> ERA: 2.20 (IRBL GIANTS)) RODRIGUEZ, FRANCISCO M. --> ERA: 4.37 (eligible to be drafted) The rosters, files and DMB databases have been updated to reflect the above corrections. ...................................... 2011 IRBL PLAYER TRANSACTIONS: The BRAVES released MICAH HOFFPAUIR, GARY MAJEWSKI. The TIGERS traded BRONSON ARROYO, RAFAEL BETANCOURT, BILLY WAGNER to the CUBS for JOE SAUNDERS, CUBS' 2ND round pick, CUBS' 3RD round pick, CUBS' 4TH round pick, CUBS' 5TH IRBL # 868 1-15-11 7 round pick, CUBS' 6TH round pick, CUBS' 7TH round pick, CUBS' 8TH round pick, CUBS' 9TH round pick, CUBS' 10TH round pick, CUBS' 11TH round pick, CUBS' 12TH round pick. The DIAMONDBACKS traded KENSHIN KAWAKAMI to the BRAVES for EDGAR RENTERIA.
