Mike Rangers From: "Ricky Diaz" To: IRBL Managers Subject: OUTFIELD Date: Tue, 22 Feb 2000 17:08:57 -0500 Pirates are looking for outfielder 30 or under. Needs to be for real. = Soriano is available. IRBL # 591 3-5-00 5 From: "Donald Swearingen" To: IRBL Managers Subject: Marlins Confusion Date: Tue, 22 Feb 2000 19:09:46 -0500 One minute I think this team can make the playoffs again, the next I am sure they cant. No depth is main problem, with lack of real power threat as well. Looking to possibly rebuild, but only if I can move several players for sure. Looking for prospects. Guys that were selected in round 1 or 2 of this years draft for example...not the 6th round probably. Or guys a little older but with some upside. One for one is ok ratio for me....looking for better quality prospects instead of quantity. Moving the following players...perhaps... Henderson Stanley Stevens Stairs Cone Schilling Petkovsek Aguilera If unable to move all of these guys I will just be forced to win the whole thing again. Sorry, I am starting to sound like Chip! don/Marlins Date: Tue, 22 Feb 2000 22:20:39 -0500 From: Barry Koopersmith To: IRBL Managers Subject: Explanation of absence of Mike Ranney (ASTROS) during the IRBL draft There was a reason that Mike Ranney (ASTROS) was unexpectedly unavailable during last Sunday's IRBL draft. Mike was involved in an accident on Saturday where he fell outside and suffered facial cuts and a concussion. He just arrived home from the hospital on Monday after spending two days there for observation. Unfortunately, there was no emergency backup draft instructions list for the ASTROS so Ricky, John and myself just drafted young prospects for the ASTROS since they appeared to be already set at every position (and Mike was very thankful for that). Mike Ranney did comment in his note to me that "I did finally learn that I should send a list no matter what my intentions are, 'just in case'". Very few managers submitted a backup draft instructions list so they did run a risk if they were unexpectedly unavailable. I wish Mike a speedy recovery. MIKE MAYKO IRBL # 591 3-5-00 6 From: GWidenor@aol.com Date: Wed, 23 Feb 2000 17:57:16 EST Subject: DRAYS in need... To: IRBL Managers The DRAYS need 200 AB, any position, to fill in their DH slot. How bad the player is is no object--He can have a .000 avg and be 48 years old, they just need the ABs! Obviously cannot offer too much that's real good in trade for such a player. Just looking for some goodwill! Email responses to gwidenor@aol.com. Thanks for the help!
