With Joyner's .341 B.Avg. vsRH and 141 allowed IRBL GP, there must be some contender who would find him valuable. The opportunity for a big contract is there as you bat behind O'Neil, Caminiti and Matt Williams and hopefully in front of Kirt Manwaring. Any interested parties should contact GM MMayko@aol.com The GIANTS are still looking for a 1B and now an LH reliever with decent numbers against LHB. Phone, write or e-mail. It is at http://www.cs.uidaho.edu/~dont, and then go under "athletic deviancies", which will be easy to find as I try to recreate a lot of stuff under my web site which was unfortunately on the grad disk which crashed last week... don "make me a reasonable offer" tobin cards manager Subject: IRBL: Thanks for the welcome Date: Wed, 25 Feb 1998 08:14:14 -0500 From: "Christopher A. Williams" Organization: University of Alberta To: All Managers Dear All, I wanted to take a moment to thank everybody for such a warm welcome to the league. The care Barry puts into screening applicants and the sense of support and enthusiasm many of you communicated to me on the very day my arrival was announced was very touching and testifies to the unique strength of this league. Too often other leagues greet new members with a grunt and an "Oh, whatever." This league makes you feel like you are joining a family. Right now, I'm going through a phase of "roster adjustment" and will entertain offers, particularly if they strengthen my outfield or bullpen. I do have some depth at starting pitcher, but of course I will stop short of dismantling my starting four (Dickson, Jones, Tomko, A.Leiter), which is one of the few solid components of the team. Currently, I am most interested in pursuing role players and prospects in whom I may have a greater interest than those I inherited. Don't even ask about Tomko, BTW. He's one of the few untouchables on my team. Christopher Williams Expos
